Q. What is chutney?
Chutney is a perfectly blended mixture of spices, fruits, and herbs.
Q. What size is the jar?
Each chutney is in a 6 oz jar.
Q. Are these chutneys, Samosa, Kofta, Saag, and Rajma Kosher?
We are not certified Kosher but our products are pure vegetarian and vegan. These products are produced in a kitchen where I don't share pots, pans, utensils, etc with any other producer.
Q. Are these chutneys, Samosa, Kofta, Saag, and Rajma Organic?
Our products are not certified Organic. Some of our ingredients like tomatoes, peas, potatoes, spinach are organic. Because not all ingredients are organic, we can't label our products as organic.
Q. What will I do with these chutneys?
Use these chutneys hot or cold.
Brush on the top of the meat and cook on the stove /grill/barbeque/bake/broil.
Stir fry/Saute any vegetable(s) using either chutney.
Add to plain yogurt/Sour cream to create your own cooking sauce/marinade, simmer sauce, salad dressing or dip.
Spread on sandwiches, use on wraps, pita pockets, etc.
Dip sliced vegetables or fruits in these chutneys.
Add these chutneys to rice, beans, eggs, soups, pasta, etc.
Try Royal Pomegranate chutney on the plain vanilla ice-cream.
There are no rules in using these chutneys, just use them as you please.
Q. How long will they stay fresh once opened?
Please refrigerate a chutney jar once opened. These chutneys stay fresh for two weeks under normal refrigerator conditions.
Q. How long may I store a jar of chutney if unopened?
These chutneys are good for six months if unopened. Please store unopened jars in the pantry/cupboard, away from direct sunlight.
Q. I can buy chutneys on line but don't see buy button for frozen samosa, kofta, saag, and rajma on line?
It is very expensive to ship frozen products; therefore, there is no option to buy the frozen products on line.
Q. Where can I buy Frozen Samosas, Saag, Kofta, and Rajma?
You can buy our frozen samosa, kofta, saag, and rajma at the various farmers' market, we participate in. We also deliver our frozen products as well as chutneys within 40 miles radius of New York zipcode 10598.
Q. How to cook the samosas?
Keep them frozen and thaw before preparation.
To thaw, place these frozen samosas on a plate before you are ready to start preheating the oven, toaster oven, or oil. It requires only about 15 minutes of thawing at room temperature.
Preparation Instructions:
Oven / Toaster Oven:
Preheat your oven/toaster oven to *400 F. Spread the frozen Samosas on a lightly greased pan. Brush or spray Samosas lightly with vegetable oil. Bake for 10 -15 minutes on each side until golden brown.
Deep Frying:
Preheat oil to *400 F. Depending on the size of the pan, gently fry the frozen Samosas for 7 - 10 minutes or until golden and crisp. Drain any excess oil on a paper towel.
Serve with BECC’s variety of chutneys: Royal Plum, Royal Mint, Royal Tomato, Royal Cranberry or Royal Pomegranate.
