Spicy Chutneys, Kofta, Saag, Rajma, Samosas, Roti Roll and Ayurvedic Spices Make Preparing Flavorful Meals Naturally Easy.

The Bombay Emerald Chutney Company (BECC) was incorporated in 2003. We started with two distinct flavors, Royal Mint chutney and Royal Plum chutney. In 2005 we added three unique flavors, Royal Cranberry chutney, Royal Pomegranate chutney, and Royal Tomato chutney. In January of 2009 we added frozen Samosa to our product line. In January of 2010 we added Koftas to our product line. We added our Royal Saag to product line in June of 2011. In May of 2012 Royal Rajma was added to our product line. In January 2014 Royal Roti Roll and Ayurvedic Spices were added to our product line.

Specializing in spicy gourmet chutneys with a twist, BECC prides itself in bringing a diverse group of chutneys made with natural ingredients to the marketplace. No longer will families be left to eat bland meats, rice or vegetables if their kitchen cupboards are stocked with a jar of Royal Plum, Mint, Tomato, Pomegranate or Cranberry chutney. Just by adding a spoonful to a soup, salad, or sandwich an ordinary meal or snack becomes extraordinary. These chutneys can be used as a condiment, spread, sauce, glaze or marinade. They can be used hot or cold, on a grill or in a drink, but they are sure to leave mouths asking for more.

Frozen Samosas are so unique that one taste and you will be hooked. These samosas can be baked, grill, or deep fried. Royal Samosas are the best of the best. We guarantee that you will not find samosas like these anywhere. Samosas are made with potatoes, peas, while flour, oil, salt, and unique spices. These can be served any time for snack, lunch, or dinner. They are great to serve in parties.

Frozen Royal Kofta are a flavorful & healthy alternative to traditional meatballs and can satiate you completely! These koftas are prepared in a curry sauce infused with traditional Indian spices. They are delicious, satisfying, and perfect solution for lunch/dinner. They can be eaten with rice or bread, stuffed into a roll with fresh veggies on the top, or eaten as a soup. Serve hot or cold with our chutneys. The taste is extraordinary. Royal Kofta are made with Squash, Tomato, Gram Flour, Lemon Juice, Salt, Red Pepper & Spices. Eat cold or hot. You can use microwave to heat them. Serve as a hearty soup or with rice/bread for lunch/dinner. They are great to serve in parties.

Frozen Royal Saag is a spinach-based dish with a variety of spices and has the consistency of a thick, rich sauce. Royal Saag has spinach, tomato, chickpeas, water, salt, oil, red pepper, and Indian spices. Heat and eat it as is.
 Or, to make it more satisfying and robust, add vegetables, paneer, tofu, diced chicken/lamb, etc.. It is delicious with rice, any type of bread, cous cous, bulgar, and quinoa. Saag offers the perfect base for any kind of stew. The combination of the Royal Saag and my Royal Mint Chutney creates an extraordinary experience. Within minutes of trying my saag, you will experience what my family has been devouring for generations.

It is prepared with fresh spinach, tomatoes, chickpeas, and has been mildly spiced. Heat and eat it as is.

Royal Rajma is a vegan, fresh, and all natural stew made of kidney beans, tomatoes, and exotic spices.

While most folks are familiar with Chili, few know about the Indian version, commonly referred to as Rajma. It tastes exquisite on top of steamed rice, mashed potatoes, nachos, or stuffed in a burrito. You can simply heat it up and eat it as a stew with crackers or you can add other veggies or meats/tofu. It is enjoyed with rice, any type of bread, couscous, bulgar wheat, and quinoa. Savory Rajma is enjoyed throughout North India and now, you can serve it in your very own kitchen. It is the perfect, quick idea for lunch or dinner, any day of the week. My rajma is all natural, fresh, local, vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free.

It is prepared with dry red kidney beans, fresh tomatoes, and has been mildly spiced. The combination of the Royal Rajma and my Royal Mint Chutney creates an extraordinary experience.

My Royal Roti Roll is all 100% natural, Vegan, Vegetarian, fresh made with whole wheat flour and seasonal vegetables.

My Ayurvedic Spices are:

Black Salt: It is considered as cooling spice in ayurvedic medicine. Recommended for low salt diets. Sprinkle on any food and drink. Substitute for eggs.

Cardamom: This versatile spice is included in a wide range of dishes, from Indian curries to desserts and teas. It’s believed to counteract stomach acidity, stimulate appetite, ease nausea, cure bad breath, and relieve gas and bloating. Dosha - Pita

Clove: The active compounds in clove lend it anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. It is also has anti-inflammatory effects and has been studied for use in aiding detoxification from environmental pollutants. Dosha – Kapha

Coriander Powder: contain many plant-derived chemical compounds that are known to have been anti-oxidant, disease preventing, and health promoting properties. Dosha – Pita-Kapha-Vata

Cumin: As a traditional herbal remedy its uses include: diuretic (helps the body shed water), relieve diarrhea and bowel spasms, relieve morning sickness, and ease carpal tunnel syndrome. Dosha – Vata, Pita, Kapha

Curry Masala: Consuming curry powder in your diet on a regular basis may provide cancer-preventive benefits, may help lower cholesterol and prevent cholesterol gallstones by virtue of one of its constituent spices. Dosha – Vata-Pita-Kapha

Fennel: Not only loaded with powerful antioxidants fennel also contains fiber, folate, potassium, and vitamin C. It is believed to boost the immune system, reduce blood pressure, and aid in detoxification of the body. It contains compounds that help relieve smooth muscle spasms, which in effect, helps ease abdominal cramping and spasms. Fennel is also a mild appetite suppressant. Dosha – Vata, Pita

Fenugreek: Like many of the other herbs and spices used in Indian cooking, the ground seeds of fenugreek have anti-inflammatory properties and aid digestion. Fenugreekine, a chemical found in these seeds, are also believed to reduce blood sugar levels and have been used as natural supplement for use with insulin. Fenugreek is also a potent expectorant, and is used for natural remedies to ease congestion, allergies, and bronchitis.: Dosha - Kapha

Ginger: it is packed with many active compounds, including gingerols, zingibain, bisabolenel, oleoresins, zingiberole, just to list a few. It’s many proven uses: naturally treat nausea from morning sickness, treat nausea related to motion sickness (found to be more effective than Dramamine, without the side-effects), anti-inflammatory properties help ease muscle and joint pain. It also has a diaphoretic property (causes sweating) and so is used to cleanse and detoxify the body, stimulate circulation, and ease bronchitis and congestion. Dosha – Vata, Kapha

Gram Masala: It contains several micronutrients. Like calcium, iron, potassium, zinc. Used for centuries for their ayurvedic & medicinal qualities. Dosha-Kapha-Pita-Vata

Thymol: The active principles in it may help increase the digestive function of the intestinal tract by increasing gut juices (gastro-intestinal secretions). Dosha - Kapha

Turmeric: Often called the “King of Spices” turmeric is an essential ingredient to the mix of spices known by most of us as curry. Its primary antioxidant, curcumin, is an essential ingredient for liver detox, and is also a natural arthritis treatment for its anti-inflammatory effects. The latest scientific studies are showing that turmeric may also be a promising diet aid that fights belly fat by inhibiting the growth of fat cells. Dosha – Vata, Pita, Kapha

Note: Cardamom, clove, fennel, and ginger are also used in desserts and teas. All the above spices are used in cooking vegetables, bean/lentil, rice, chicken/fish curries, and bread. Add to salad and yogurt.

All our products are fresh, local, pure vegetarian, vegan, allergen free, soy free, and natural. Chutneys are fat-free. No sugar is added to Tomato & Mint chutneys, Koftas, saag, and Samosas. Chutneys, Koftas, and Saag are gluten-free. There is no trans fat in any of the products.

Chutneys not only can be used hot or cold, as a marinade, spread or dip—they taste good with almost anything. In particular, the Royal Mint Chutney made with mint, cilantro, chilies, and lemon juice, works well with beans, rice, baked potatoes, hamburgers, lamb, veggie burgers, tofu, grilled poultry, beef and seafood. The Royal Plum chutney made with plums, dates, figs, a hint of mango and Indian spices, works particularly well with exotic fruits such as papaya and kiwi, tuna, pork, steak and cooked shrimp. The Royal Tomato is made with fresh tomatoes, baby ginger, green chilies, and a touch of cilantro. We suggest using it on rice, beans, tofu, eggs, vegetables, crudities, cheese, grilled poultry, beef, pork, and seafood. The Royal Pomegranate is made with pomegranate, apples, sugar, salt, and Indian spices, compliments red or white meats, seafood, any vegetables, and vanilla ice-cream. The Royal Cranberry Chutney, the sweetest of our collection still has a spicy hint to it. It is made with cranberries, mangoes, brown sugar, and Indian spices, goes well with Brie, fruits, cooked shrimp, turkey, steak, black sea bass, and pork chops.

Started by the Gupta family in 2004, BECC is founded on one principal, ensuring product quality. Nirmala Gupta, the President and Founder of BECC, produces each chutney and samosa with the same level of care as if it were being made for her own family. She recently described her motivations for starting the company. “I have been making these chutneys and samosas for my family for decades and after careful consideration I decided to unleash them and share them with other families. It is my hope these chutneys and samosas help spice up conversations, make meals more memorable and infuse the daily routine of eating breakfast, lunch and dinner with flavor. With my children grown and living away from home, I consider my business my new child that I will nurture and prepare for the world.”

These chutneys, samosas, koftas, saag, Rajma, and Roti Rolls are made with natural ingredients, with no preservative, color, or chemical added, are made in New York and BECC is incorporated and based in the U.S.
